Thanks to everyone who voted for my song “Wake Up Like This” for the SOCAN ECHO Songwriting Prize.  Congrats to the other nominees: Arcade Fire, Austra, Handsome Furs, and PS I Love You. I am really honoured to have won this prize and I plan to use the $5000 toward recording my next album.

If you head over to my shows page you’ll see I have just announced a whole bunch of new tour dates I am really excited about.

THIS WEEKEND on Friday Aug 5, I’ll be playing a FREE SHOW as part of Pop Montreal’s “Pop Lafontaine” in Theatre de la Verdure in Parc Lafontaine with Philémon Chante and the United Steel Workers of Montreal. Doors are at 7, I’ll be playing at 9pm with a full band including keys and organ. Check out this link for more info.

On August 29, the band and I will be headed to Les Iles de la Madelaine to play a show at Les Pas Perdus. I’ll be around on August 27 and 28 too performing with Socalled for his shows on Les Iles. I am also really excited to be playing FME this year in Abitibi on Sept 2 with Dany Placard and Akron/Family. Check this link for more info on that one.

Finally, I’ll be heading out east at the end of September for some shows in Halifax and New Brunswick with Rebekah Higgs. Some West Coast dates will be announced soon so stay tuned!

I’ll be performing in Parc Des Champanons de St. Laurent this weekend (Sat June 11) at 7:30 PM. Then next weekend at The Piggery Theatre in North Hatley on the 16th and 17th for a taping of Vinyl Café.

I’ll be playing two Montreal Jazz Festival shows to kick off the summer. June 29 and 30 at the Musée d’Art Contemporain. For info and tickets go to the Jazz Fest website here

I am excited to let you all know that I will be performing with Joe Grass for a taping of CBC Radio’s Vinyl Café on June 16 and 17 at the Piggery Theatre in North Hatley, Quebec.  June 16 is a rehearsal and June 17 is the show taping (tickets are available for both nights). Vinyl Café is taping two shows in two sets on June 17. The first set will be Joe Grass with Katie Moore and the second set will be Katie Moore with Joe Grass. After a successful Kickstarter.com campaign to raise funds to release my new record–Montebello–it will be released on February 1, 2011 on my own new label, Purple Cat Records. Thanks to all my friends and fans for their continued support.
